In the film, there is a boxer named Ajay Mehra (Sunny Deol) who is the beloved of his brother Ashok Mehra (Raj Babbar) and sister-in-law Indu Mehra (Moushumi Chatterjee). One day Ajay’s brother gets caught in the trap of smuggler Balwant Rai (Amrish Puri). Ajay is kidnapped by Balwant Rai’s men and when Ajay returns after completing his studies, he searches for his brother but one day he finds his brother’s dead body.

The film Ghayal was released on 22 June 1990, which was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film was produced by Dharmendra. The film had music by Bappi Lahiri. Actors like Ajay Devgan, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Raj Babbar, Moushumi Chatterjee, Om Puri, Amrish Puri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda were seen in the film.
According to Sacnilk, the budget of the film Ghayal was Rs 2.50 crore and the film made a worldwide collection of Rs 20 crore at the box office. Let us tell you, in 1990 itself, excellent films like ‘Aashiqui’, ‘Ghar Ho To Aisa’, ‘Doodh Ka Karz’, ‘Dil’, ‘Aaj Ka Arjun’, ‘Swarg’ were released but Ghayal became the second highest grossing film of that year.
